This trick is great for opening up the eyes (by reflecting light) and making you look more awake--even though the color almost matches the skin, its warm undertones offset the blueness often found under the skin at the inner corners of the eyes. Makeup artists have also told me this trick is great for women with very wide-set eyes, as the shimmer at the inner corners subtly brings attention more toward the center of the face.

Depending on your skintone, you could use a shimmery white, champagne, peach or deep bronze eye pencil or powder to get the effect. Some pencils that I hear work well: Avon Big Color Eye Pencil in Vanilla, Benefit Eye Bright and Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Pearl
